Pakistani Film Lamha (Seedlings) wins two awards in New York
Wait is over, the award night has just concluded and the moment (Lamha) Pakistani fans had been waiting for did indeed bring international pride. Pakistan’s much talked about entry to this year’s NYCIFF (New York City International Film Festival) that was in the news since past few weeks has made its mark. Lamha (English title: Seedlings) received two awards at the NYCIFF tonight.
Aamina Shaikh won the “Best Lead Actress In a Feature Film” and the movie received “Best Feature Film Audience Choice Award”.

Best Feature Film – Seedlings (Lamha)
Best Director – Mansoor Mujahid
Best Original Screenplay – Summer Nicks
Best Lead Actress – Aamina Sheikh
Best Lead Actor – Mohib Mirza
Best Supporting Lead – Gohar Rasheed
Best Musical Score – Usman Riaz
The film has been produced by Meher Jaffri, Summer Nicks, Craig Peter Jones. Meher Jaffri is a Toronto based Canadian Pakistani. Lamha is based on circumstances surrounding a tragedy that leaves a once perfect couple besieged with unanswered questions, leading them to re-evaluate their own beliefs and sanity, and ultimately each other.

Lamha is set for a fall release later this year in Pakistan (unconfirmed)
