Saudi Arabia’s national carrier Saudi Arabian Airlines (Al Saudia) will begin direct operations between Toronto and Jeddah as per latest news release from Saudi Airlines. SAUDIA website has been updated with schedules and fare options.

Saudia (SV) will operate two new flights to Toronto and Los Angeles. HH Prince Fahd bin Abdullah, President of the General Authority of Civil Aviation and Chairman of Saudia’s Board of Directors, has approved the plan.

He said Saudia would receive four of 20 Boeing 777-300ER aircraft by the end of 2013. “We’ll use this aircraft for our Los Angeles flights,” he said while highlighting the plane’s advanced features enhancing passenger comfort.

In a statement released, Saudia stated that it is pleased to announce the upcoming launch of new routes to two of the biggest cities in North America: Toronto and Los Angeles. For passengers convenience and to ensure they have a wide choice available, these routes will both be operational in the coming months.

Saudia is expected to launch flights in October 2013 to Canada’s largest and most multicultural city with flights three times a week on Mondays, Thursdays, and Saturdays further stated Saudia in a statement.

All flights will be served by the brand-new Boeing 777 aircraft.

The introduction of direct flights between Saudi Arabia and Canada will not only help the existing Saudi students in Canada, but will help Umrah and Hajj travelers choose wider flight options and choices as they plan to travel to Saudi Arabia. As per Immigration Canada statistics, there were about 14,000 Saudi students enrolled in Canadian institutes last year.

With the launch of the Saudia’s Toronto service, it will become the fourth Gulf airline operating flights to Canada after Emirates, Etihad and Qatar Airways.

Saudi Arabia has a vast network of international connections in Asia which would help travelers beyond Saudi Arabia to explore flight options.
